'The Smart Alarm' waits for one of its 'problems' to be detected.
While doing this it checks its own power supply is working, waits for an incoming text message from you to tell it either to arm or disarm itself, or maybe turn on or off an external device, light a light, unlock a door, start a pump / garage door opener.
While the alarm is waiting you can send a message to it to check its still working, just to reassure yourself that everything is working normally.
Power used in this mode is at a low level and costs just a few pennies a day to run for 24 hr monitoring, no other company can provide an onsite little watchdog for that price.
Remember that you have 5 numbers stored in the alarm, and you can change these just by sending a message to the alarm telling it to change the users numbers. Your number has priority and only you can do this.
