‘The Smart Alarm’ is at home in a car, in fact its original design concept started from the need for a remote car alarm that could alert the owner.

After looking at other designs available on the market, from simple alarms costing £40-£50 in car accessory shops to alarms costing £200-£300 pound in specialist centres, we decided none did a simple job effectively.

The cheaper price range were just noise blasters that annoy neighbours at night and get ignored in car parks every day of the year

The top of the range alarms were often not much more than a cheap one with a brand name attached, and only a few offered a dial out facility.

Of all the ones we looked at, none seemed to offer a ‘dial in’ facility to check that the alarm was still functioning, or to be able to turn it on or off via the phone remotely.
